Yes… Beyonce, Carey Mulligan and Karolina Kurkova all pretty much killed at the MET Ball a couple days ago, but here are my top three looks from the fashion event of the year.
You are beautiful & I love your line. Can we please be friends?
Hi doll! Yess!?!
I see that you often mention black women in the civil rights movement are what inspired you to use African prints and express its culture. Can you elaborate specifically what about this movement inspired you? Also name a few woman who were moguls in this particular time period that really inspired your line, and the expression behind it. Your clothing line is phenomenal btw, & I'm writing a paper on it. ^_^
Thanks so much Doll! To answer this question I would probably have to write a paper as well! But a short answer is I was inspired by the conservative silhouettes that women in the Civil Right Movement wore and the fabrics that women in the Black Power Movement wore. I wanted to see what the two generations of women would look like combined and modernized.
Hi Maya! I am obsessed with Boxing Kitten! It represents my love for African prints and vintage perfectly. I work at Urban Outfitters and you could imagine how excited I was to see your dress for them! I also admire your hard work and determination in starting Boxing Kitten which is truly an inspiration :) Will you be having a sample sale for your Fall items in NYC anytime soon? Best of luck with everything and please continue your fabulous collection!
Thanks so much Doll! We are still trying to nail down a date for a sample sale but yes! Sign up for our mailing list on the homepage www.boxingkitten.com for newsletters, sales and exclusive offers!
